When you think of Magaluf you think of rowdy holiday makers, all night parties and youngsters doing shots till 3am.
But it turns out, just a few steps away from the infamous Magaluf strip lies the beautiful bay of Magaluf. With its beautiful white sands and a sea colour that Instagram bloggers can only dream of getting with a filter, Magaluf truly is a place of outstanding beauty.
But take a stroll down the pavement that runs parallel to the beach and you soon discover what seems to be quite a large transformation going on. The town is undergoing a five-year regeneration plan in collaboration with hotel chains, the town council, the British consulate, and the police.
With each season that passes, you find increasingly up market businesses claiming their space looking out towards the Mediterranean Sea offering their services for the more sophisticated clientele.
You can see that money is being spent here to change the image of Magaluf into a more fashionable resort, one, dare we say that could rival Marbella? The beach is now lined with high class restaurants, exclusive hotels and fancy bars offering you that little more luxury you would find in other high class resorts.
But for the more seasoned traveller, Magaluf still has that excellent reputation for its excellent and sometimes wild nightlife that I am sure that is not going to disappear any time soon.
What do you think of the new plans? Can Magaluf compete with the higher-class resorts of San Antonio or Marbella? Let us know in the comments below…
